Media become so
powerful in the World. We can see it on peoples behaviors, values and their
lifestyles. Women are perfect example where we can see this big change. During the
last 20 years media influenced women in many ways. Due to the fact, we can
argue that women forfeited media more than men. Advertising was starter for changing them
self. Advertising took a big role in their lives. Media (advertising) started
influence women since the era of magazines and commercials with models and
luxury assortment became. Great body, luxury clothes, good post in the work and
money were something what they started to want. Media showed women how to attract
men and how to capture them and that is why advertising is so important for
them. Also something what they believe that can help them with some of their
problems, because products or models in advertising seem to be perfect. It is one
of the reasons why they follow it and is irreplaceable for them.
FIRST EVENT OF WOMEN CHANGES THROUGH MEDIA
In late 19th and early 20th
centuries was the time when advertising started to rise and develop. It was the
one of the most current even when women started to change. Year by the year all
magazines were full of famous people, stars and this influenced women to make
changes. When we compare the past with nowadays, we can see many differences.
As mentioned before, ladies in the past lived more for moral values so they always
wanted to have a family and take care of all family members. Life without media
was less stressful and women were more happy with lifestyle they lived in past.
Nowadays, it seems like women do not pay attention on their families as much as
they used to. They are more likely taking care of themselves. Especially nowadays,
there is a trend when girls want to stay alone rather than getting married
because they want just to take care of themselves and want to find someone (partner)
who is able to success them in the future. Most of them are searching for their
partners with questions like; How much does he earn? Is he wealthy? What does
he do for his living? Is he successful?. These women are totally influenced by
media because they see what is going on around the world, they see famous
people in the magazines how they live, so these women would want to live also
luxury lives. They think that the life of celebrities is the right one so they
want to live “celebrity lives:” Media and mostly money totally changed our
society and lifestyle which we live. Basically, these women search for material
love rather than for virtual love. From this point of view; What do people think about
nowadays world? Are they happy with the society they live in? Are these women
actually happy with their lives where they exchange moral values to luxury
lives with no love?...

Women became powerful when
media started to use more women for propagation products. First article was
about women who want to live successful live with wealthy men and take care
just about them self but on the other hand there is a group of women which
became so powerful through media and they became independent on their own. This
is another important event in women lives because they started to execute men s
work and became popular through media. Careerists who also do not like to have
a family because they think that career is more important than man or kids. Almost
every of this woman is influenced by media as well because her lifestyle is
adapted just to her. That means that, this kind of woman has time just for herself.
Mostly women between age of 24th and 35th are most
influenced by media. There are some famous
names of ladies who became popular through media and still are qua famous. The
most popular names in the World are: Anna Wintour- Editor –in –Chief, Vogue,
this lady is one of the most important in fashion. Than we also know names like
Eleen DeGeneres, Katie Couric Oprah Winfrey, she is one of the most favorite
one for people but also for brands because people from advertising know that if
their product will be sold by famous person like Oprah success will be there , and
lot of others. These ladies are also influenced
by media and advertising because looking good is also their job. Lot of them
became popular in later age but they are icons for other women who would like
to live their lives. Like I mentioned before that is why people from media and

one of the most popular and favorite seduction which is useful for selling products.
Women body is used for any kind of products ( cars, food, clothes, perfumes,…). “Women’s
magazines are full of articles urging that if they can just lose those last
twenty pounds, they’ll have it all—the perfect marriage, loving children, great
sex, and a rewarding career.”
Women are creatures
which attract men and that are why people from advertisement use them for
selling products because if people see advertisement with sexy body and nice
face people want to buy it. Usually famous people or models are used for
advertising because they are something like idols and people trust them because
there is a rule :" if you are famous =you are perfect." that is why
women want to look exactly same than models from cover pages of magazines.
Women are so influenced by advertising even if they have some problem with body
and there is great commercial for new type of diet if they see the model
which is trying to sell a product and showing her body how it helped her they

media and advertising are important for our lives they give us lot of
information about every think but we (women) should also think in different way
that beauty is not every think. Women should also think about the education because it is one of the most important things,
if you want to be successful. Comparing to the past when moral values were more
important nowadays people see just luxury accessories and luxury lifestyle. In this
time things such as cars, handbags or shoes make us happy but people should
think more about moral values. Media changed
our society in some ways positively but also negatively.

ReplyDeleteAs it was claimed by Lindy Dekoven in the video above, "This is all about capitalism. The exploitation of women's bodies sells products, magazines, etc." This is the problem here, that women's bodies are used to make profits, and the media and the advertising industry do not really think that in a strike for money the important values automatically lose, the perception, the representation and the respect for women changes.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that there is now a trend to look like a model from a cover page of magazine and that this is nowadays very important for women but fortunately not for all of them because this trend is potentially destructive. I mean it can lead only to the state of permanent dissatisfaction with your body because obviously not everyone is born with physical dispositions to look like a model.
ReplyDeleteI find this issue of representation of women in media very significant, because,as Denisa mentioned, it influences our life and perception of reality. I think that one of the essential reasons why women started to change in early 20th century is not only developing of advertising, but achieving of women´s right to vote (1920).
ReplyDeleteI agree that advertisers should be concerned not only how to sell the product,when they use pictures of impossibly thin models.But also be aware of negative consequences,such as bulimia,anorexia and other mental illnesses which young girls have because of the constant exposure to advertising. I know that "sex sells", but from my point of view it should be somehow restricted.I liked the blog,thanks.
